Terms of Service
Effective August 7, 2026
By creating an account or using Trovel, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree.
1. The service
Trovel provides trip planning, collaboration, publishing, memory, and expense-recording tools. Features may change or be discontinued. Trovel is not a travel agent, bank, payment processor, accountant, or financial adviser.
2. Accounts and acceptable use
You are responsible for your account and sign-in links. Do not break the law, violate another person’s rights, upload harmful or infringing content, access accounts without permission, interfere with the service, or bypass its security.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of content you submit and confirm that you have the right to use it. You give Trovel a non-exclusive license to host, process, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate the service and honor your sharing choices, and to create aggregated or de-identified information as described in the Privacy Policy. Public content may be viewed or copied by others.
4. Expenses
Expense calculations and settlement suggestions are organizational tools. Check all amounts, currencies, rates, participants, and payments. Recording a settlement does not transfer money or prove payment.
5. Content moderation, suspension, and termination
You may stop using Trovel at any time. We may review content shared publicly or reported to us, and may hide, remove, or restrict the visibility of any content, or suspend or end access, to protect Trovel or its users, address violations of these Terms, comply with law, or discontinue the service. We are not obliged to monitor content, and we may act with or without notice.
6. Disclaimers and liability
Trovel is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or lost profits, data, goodwill, or travel opportunities. Rights and liabilities that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.
7. Changes and governing law
Changes will be posted here with a new effective date. California law governs these Terms, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
