Privacy Policy

Trovel collects and uses personal information as described below.
1. Information we collect
We collect account information such as your email, display name, and authentication identifier; trip content such as itineraries, destinations, places, travel dates, members, invitations, moments, photos, and visibility settings; expense information such as amounts, currencies, categories, dates, participants, receipts, and settlement records; and authentication cookies and basic service logs. Your device may also store your language choice and unsaved drafts. Trovel does not collect payment-card or bank-account credentials.
2. How we use it
We use this information to operate and secure Trovel, authenticate users, provide the features you request, send sign-in and invitation messages, troubleshoot problems, and comply with law. Where applicable, we rely on performing our agreement with you, legal obligations, and legitimate interests such as service security.
We also use information derived from trips and expenses in aggregated or de-identified form to understand travel patterns, improve Trovel, estimate typical travel costs, develop destination and budget benchmarks, improve itinerary suggestions, and produce statistical insights about destinations and travel. Aggregated and de-identified information is not used to identify you. Who can see an individual trip, and which parts of it, is set by its owner through the trip’s visibility settings. Trovel does not make a trip, its moments, or its expenses public on your behalf.
3. How we share it
Trip content is shared with trip members and, when you choose public visibility, with anyone who can access the public page. We also use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email, exchange rates, and optional receipt reading. If you connect an AI assistant, what you ask it about is sent to that assistant’s provider under their terms; this is off unless you set it up, and it can include details of other people on your trips. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where those providers operate. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect Trovel or its users. We may publish or share aggregated statistics that do not identify any person, such as typical costs for a destination. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
4. Storage and retention
Authentication cookies keep you signed in. We keep account and trip information while it is needed to operate Trovel and may retain information when required for security, legal, or dispute-resolution reasons. Shared expense and settlement records may remain where needed to preserve the records of other trip members.
5. Your choices and rights
You can control trip visibility and edit certain information in Trovel, and disconnect any AI assistant on the Connected apps page. Depending on where you live, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy, withdraw consent, or complain to your data-protection authority. Send requests to trovel@i80.com. We may verify your identity before acting.
6. Children and tracking
Trovel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Trovel does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
7. Changes
Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
